Leola V.  Edens
Leola V. “Lee” Edens, age 89 of Bonner Springs, KS. passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6th, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Bonner Springs, with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be 10 to 11am prior to the service also at the Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the First Christian Church of Bonner Springs in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Lee was born on July 4, 1925 in Carthage, SD the daughter of Elmer S. & Bernice D. Stratton Erickson. She was Baptized and Confirmed into the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Carthage, SD. Lee was a graduate of Carthage High School and attended Wright Business College. She worked 27 years at Commercial National Bank and was a Jafra Cosmetics Manager for 38 years. She married William “Bill” Weber in 1950. She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Bonner Springs. Lee loved her family and friends and enjoyed playing the organ and piano. She played for the grade school operetta, girls chorus and the mixed chorus. After High School she played for the choir at the Lutheran Church and Men’s Quartet. More recently she played for the First Christian Church and the Bonner Springs Nursing Home. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Harlen and Clair Erickson, one sister Glenna, two husbands Bill Weber and Bob Edens and a son-in-law Bob Guthrie. Survivors include her three children; Vicki Baker (Jim), Robert Weber (Joanne) and Barbara Guthrie, two step-children; Janie Buhrkuhl and Richard Weber, two sisters; Elaine Nelson and Phyllis Stevens (Richard), two sister-in-laws; Cleo Erickson and Charolette Erickson, ten grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
