Obituary for Clinton R. Vickers

Clinton R. Vickers
Clinton Russell Vickers was born September 13, 1943 in West Plains, MO. He spent his youth in Western Johnson County and he graduated Bonner Springs High School class of 1961. Clint died December 14, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He married Judy Hicks on March 3, 1962.
Providing for his family was Clint’s top priority and his work ethic was impressive. He started young as a business owner with a hay crew, a dump truck, and later Vickers Automotive, V & H Trenching, Back in Thyme Bed and Breakfast, and most recently a real estate investment venture, CRV LLC. His love for cars developed early as a boy in the Monticello area where his father had a salvage yard and the boys spent many hours tinkering with cars. This developed into his life long passion and early work experience at Ed Roberts Chevrolet and Jay Wolfe Pontiac as a mechanic.
Clint loved spending time with his circle of friends, car buddies, and connected to his family. He built cars, bought and sold car parts online, frequented swap meets and loved the Wednesday night Man Cave. He loved spending winters in Ft. Myers Florida, with Judy and friends. He played cards, and games with friends and family, enjoyed reality TV and political commentary.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Dorthy Vickers, brother Don Vickers and nephew Randy Vickers.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy. Daughters Sonya (Doug) Clements, Sheryl Vickers (Jay) Horting. Grandchildren, Keenan (Mattie), Seth and Jared Clements, Evan and Lilah Vickers Platz, Kaiden and Kara Horting. Great Grand daughters Logan and Charlotte Clements. Clint has many nephews and nieces, brothers and sisters in-law, extended family and many wonderful friends.
