Marjorie  Grace  Copsey (Bascom)
Marjorie G. (Bascom) Copsey, 87, of Lenexa, KS. passed away Sunday, Feb. 26th, 2017. Visitation will be from 3 to 4pm with the Funeral 4pm, both Saturday Mar. 4th, at the West Lenexa Seventh-day Adventist Church, 24450 W. 83rd St. Lenexa, KS. Private burial in the Leavenworth Nat. V.A. Cemetery.

Marge was born 3/10/29 in Lincoln, NE. As a child lived in Panora IA, Keene TX, and Des Moines, IA. Attended Shelton Academy in Nebraska and graduated from Oak Park Academy in Nevada, Iowa 1946. Attended Union College in Lincoln, NE.

Married James W Copsey on 9/23/1947 and had 54 years together. Places they lived: Omaha, NE she worked at Mutual of Omaha '47-'53; Oak Grove Heights, MO; Sterling & South Lancaster, MA; New Braintree, MA at Pioneer Valley Academy '65-'77 worked in Cafeteria, became manager of Student workers in Housekeeping and Laundry, and later Dean of Girls. Berrien Springs, MI '77-'86 worked at Andrews University as Secretary to Chaplin and Student Missionary Programs and Real Estate agent at McLauchlin Realty; lived in Lenexa KS '87 to present, employed last as a Real Estate Agent and Broker with Help U Sell until she retired.

Marge was active in the SDA Church where ever she lived and held many church offices. She loved to work with people of all ages. She kept in touch with 782 people on Facebook and tried to always tell each one Happy Birthday.

Marge was preceded in death by her Father Hugh W Bascom; Mother Gracie M Ramsey Bascom; Father/Mother-in-law James H Copsey/Wilna M Auxier Copsey; Husband James W Copsey; Brother Benjamin H Bascom; Brother-in-law Donald A Copsey.

Survivors include: Brother Maurice T/Dottie Bascom of Dayton, MD; Sister Gwendolyn M/Ted Glaser of Carrington, ND; Brother-in-law David R/Nell Copsey of DeRidder, LA; Daughter Marjorie Gail/Chris Smith of Shawnee, KS; Son Mark J/Elisabeth Copsey of Walla Walla, WA; Grandson Michael J Smith of Lincoln NE; Granddaughter Christina G Smith/Thomas Maillioux of Overland Park, KS; 2 great-grandsons; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
