Shaun Alvin "Chief"  LaBranch
Shaun A. LaBranch “Chief”, age 57, of Parkville, MO., passed away Mar. 13, 2017 at his home. Visitation 6-8pm, Wed., March 15th, Funeral 10am, Thurs., Mar. 16th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS burial to follow at 12:30pm, Thurs., Mar. 16th at the Dance Grounds Cemetery, Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Reservation in Mayetta, KS. Shaun was born July 19, 1959 and grew up in Topeka, KS. He graduated from High School early so that he could serve in the United States Marine Corp proudly serving from 1976 to 1982. He He greatly enjoyed the outdoors especially camping and fishing. He was very proud to be a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Indian Tribe. Above all he loved his family and spending time with them. He married Linda Gabaurer on Feb. 14th, 1997. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel LaBranch in 2009. And is survived by his wife of 20 years Linda and son Bryan LaBranch both of the home. Five daughters Brandy Moody (Keith) of Leawood, KS; Shauna LaBranch; Amber LaBranch; Melissa Johnson (Jeff) of Garden City, Idaho and Stephanie LaBranch. His parents Melvene and Howard Oliver of Topeka, KS. Five sisters Leah Zakar (John) of Valdosta, GA; Audrey Oliver; Debbie Oliver-Johnson; Tina Oliver; Nancy Henry (Roger) all of Topeka, KS. As well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends that will miss him greatly as he was the kindest and strongest man.
