CONNIE S. VICKERS
Connie S. Vickers, 75, of Basehor, KS passed away on Sun., Mar. 19, 2017 at her home with her family at her side. Visitation 10 am to Noon and Funeral at Noon, both on Thur., Mar. 23 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Connie was born July 2nd, 1941 to Sam and Lois Clapper in Knob Noster, MO. They moved to Bonner Springs when Connie was three years old. She graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1959. She started dating Bob Vickers during her sophomore year in high school and married in 1961. Connie worked at Fairbank Morse for several years and drove a school bus for DeSoto and Bonner Springs school districts for 13 years. After the school districts she worked for their company R. Vickers Trucking until retirement after 53 years in business. Her hobbies included showing quarter horses and attending car shows with her 1932 ford sedan. Connie liked to travel to Florida and Colorado with her daughter, son and sister. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She leaves behind her husband Bob Vickers of the home, son Steve Vickers of Olathe, KS; daughter Traci Vickers of Louisiana. One sister Rita Hoch (Scott) of Bonner Springs, KS. Six nieces and nephews Ian Schaben (Christine of Raymore, MO; Brandon Hoch of Shawnee, KS; Brenna Hoch also of Shawnee, KS; Sonya Clement (Doug) of Bonner Springs, KS and Sheryl Vickers also of Bonner Springs, KS and Doug Vickers (Regina) of Olathe, KS. Three grand nephews and Eight grand nieces.
