Mary Judith "Judy" Richardson, 72, of Basehor, KS., died Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Providence Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 6, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 15438 Leavenworth Road, Basehor. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services also at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to Bishop Ward High School.
Judy was the daughter of William Leo, III and Agatha (McNaughton) Piedmont. She attended Emporia Teachers College and graduated with a degree in education. She went on to teach for 25 years in the Bonner Springs School District, retiring in 2001 to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, one brother William Piedmont and her husband of 37 years, Ron Richardson. Survivors include her three daughters, Michelle Bishop and husband Scott of Gardner, KS., Patricia Smith and husband Norm of Mesa, AZ., and Donlan Forbis of Tonganoxie, KS, three sisters; Brigid Garbini, Agatha Colbert and Gina Marone, two brothers; Mike and Jeff Piedmont, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren (and one on the way) as well as many nieces and nephews.
