Obituary for Theodore Charles "Ted" Smith

Theodore Charles "Ted"  Smith
Theodore Charles “Ted” Smith, 78, of Greeneville, TN, formerly of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away Wednesday morning at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.
He graduated from Calvary Baptist Bible College in 1964. On May 21, 1971, he married Carol Rudisill at Olivet Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS.
Ted owned and operated Country Side Plumbing in Bonner Springs and was a member of Plumbers Local 8, Kansas City, Missouri. He worked as a commercial plumber for many years. He later worked in maintenance at Brighten Gardens Assisted Living, Prairie Village, KS, until his retirement.
He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Greeneville.
Survivors include his wife: Carol Smith of the home; two daughters: Jacque Leigh Criss and her husband, Josh, of Atlanta, GA, and Kimberly Michele Philbeck and her husband, Michael, of Greeneville, TN; grandchildren: Owen Michael Philbeck, Toby James Philbeck, Jaxon Charles Philbeck, Emma Caroline Criss, and Thea Susan Criss; one brother: William “Bill” Smith of Huntington Beach, CA; sister: Mary Newby and her husband, Larry; sister-in-law: Connie Morche’ Keys; thirteen nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother: Hollis Lavern and Loris Smith; mother and step-father: Lena Bell and Friederick “Fritz” Morche’; brother: Fredrick W. Morche’.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13th, at Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple, 21533 Midland Drive, Shawnee, KS. The funeral service will follow visitation at 4 p.m. at the church. Pastor Kevin Metsinger will officiate.
Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery, McFall, MO.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Mission Baptist Temple – Mission Fund.
