Obituary for James Carl Thompson

James Carl Thompson, 70, of Basehor, KS passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home. Friends may call at the Visitation from 9 to 10:30 am at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs and Graveside funeral service at 11 am in the Glenwood Cemetery near Basehor, KS both on Fri., June 16. James was born on May 24, 1947 in Bentonville, AR and moved to this area in the mid 1950's. Later he graduated from Bishop Meige High School in 1965. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He had worked for Colgate-Palmolive in K.C.K for 33 years retiring in 2002 as an Electrician. He loved history and had been quite a softball and baseball player back in his day. Most of all he like spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by Sandra Kay Sybrant in 2008, a sister Ann Patrice Harbert in 2005 and a brother Tony Thompson. Survivors include 3 sons Christian Thompson (Adonna) of Overland Park, KS; Anthony Thompson (Amy) of Basehor, KS and Brett Thompson of Basehor, KS. One sister Judi Vallejo of Overland Park, KS and one brother Mike Thompson of Olathe, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association.
