Mark R. Lawson, 60, of McPherson, KS died on Mon., July 3, 2017 at the University of Kansas Hospital in K.C., KS. The Celebration of Life service will be from 6 to 8 pm, Fri., July 7, at the First United Methodist Church, 2100 Howell St. in North Kansas City, MO 64116. Mark was born on Sept. 30, 1956 to Robert G. Lawson and Patricia A. (Scharfenberg) Lawson in Kansas City, KS. Mark was a proud father of three sons, Jake Wright, Joel Lawson and Jeremy Lawson. After attending Hazel Grove and John F. Kennedy Elementary Schools, Coronado Junior High, Washington High School and Bonner Springs High School, he served in the Navy in San Diego, CA. In 2002 he moved to McPherson, KS to work for McPherson Painting but his favorite position was the decade that he worked for Viega, Inc. Mark is a member of a large family and is survived by his three sons, Jake Wright (Cheri) of Charlotte, NC; Joel Lawson of McPherson, KS and Jeremy Lawson of Memphis, TN. Two sisters Pam Lawson of Edwardsville, KS and Denise Border (Willie) of Bonner Springs, KS. Two Nieces Michaela Slaughter and Sailor Herron both of Edwardsville, KS. Six nephews Gabriel Herron of Edwardsville, KS; Justin Border of Kansas City, KS; Nicholas Border (Melanie West), Max Ladet (Caitlin Eckard) all of Roeland Park, KS; Gabriel Herron, Jr. of San Antonio, TX and Gage Herron of Edwardsville, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Lawson, Patricia Lawson and Robert Spratling, Sr., grandparents Max and Monette (Jurney) Scharfenberg, and Glen and Eva (Fisher) Lawson.
