Obituary for Dennis Joseph Kelly

Dennis Joseph  Kelly
Dennis J. Kelly, age 62, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. Funeral Mass services will be at 9:30 am, Tuesday, July 18, at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor, KS with burial to follow in the Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary service will be at 4:30 pm, Monday afternoon July 17, and the visitation will follow from 5 to 8 pm, Monday evening July 17, both also at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Holy Angels Catholic Church 15440 Leavenworth Rd. Basehor, KS 66007. Dennis was born Feb. 11, 1955 in Kansas City, KS. and was later married on July 23, 1977 to Susie Fouts and enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage. Dennis spent his life farming and especially enjoyed his herd of Angus Cattle. The annual trip to Branson with the grandkids was always the highlight of the summer for Dennis and Susie, as well as the many nights spent at the farm playing cards and fishing with family and friends. Dennis was always a competitor (especially at Royals Fantasy Camp, Ping-Pong and Pitch) and showed it through his energy and drive, that was an example to all that knew him. He was a dedicated, hard-working and loving man who lived the fullest life and will be sorely missed. Dennis was preceded in death by his father Clarence Kelly and one brother William "Bill" Kelly. And is survived by his wife Susie of the home, three sons Kyle (Jenny), Ryan (Brenn) all of Tonganoxie, KS and Joe (Laura) of Fairway, KS. His mother Rosalie Kelly of Bonner Springs, KS. Four grandchildren Ethan, Grant, Paige and Brooklyn. 3 brothers Jim (Cindy) Kelly, Tom (Donna) Kelly, all of Bonner Springs, KS; and Jack Kelly of Newton, KS. 3 sisters Debra (Dennis) Breuer of Basehor, KS; Kathleen (Hoot) Gibson of Kansas City, MO; and Ellen (William) Hein of Lee Summit, MO. as well as a host of nieces and nephews other family and friends.
