Obituary for Mikayla Ann Lowe

Mikayla Ann  Lowe
Mikayla “Mickey” or “KK” Ann Lowe, age 24, of Oskaloosa, KS., passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at her home. Funeral Services will be 1pm Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at a visitation from 11am to 1pm prior to the service also at the church. To help the family with final expenses they have asked for donations to be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church, 15774 Linwood Rd. Bonner Springs, KS. 66012.

Mikayla was born on April 5, 1993 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a 2011 graduate of Oskaloosa High School where she participated in both dance and cheerleading. Mikayla was a lifelong member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church, where she was active with the Awana’s and the Children’s Choir. She also enjoyed the Mission Trip she took with the church to Guyana. Mikayla received her CNA Certificate while in high school and had attended Washburn University in Topeka, recently she was working as a Dental Assistant. Mikayla loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking; she had hiked the Incline at Pikes Peak many times. She also enjoyed traveling, and wasn’t afraid to just “jump in her car and go”. Her love for adventure, animals and the outdoors really showed when she took her beloved dog “Queenie” with her kayaking!

Mikayla was preceded in death by a brother Dalton Arredondo, her paternal grandparents; Francis X. and Jacqueline A. Medina and by her maternal great-grandfather Raymond O. Lowe.

Survivors include her mother Christine M. Arredondo, her father Johnnie M. and wife Debra R. Medina of Parker, CO., maternal grandparents Donald & Deborah Lowe of the home, maternal great-grandmother Blanch E. Lowe, two brothers Christian Lowe & Wade Arredondo, two sisters Jordon & Alexa Medina, paternal grandparents in-law; John H. & Claire I. Blessing, several aunts and uncles including Todd & Paula Lowe, Brad Lowe, Kimberly & Mike Bigg, Karen & Ray Slagle, Frank & Teresa Medina, Theresa & Dwayne Straws, Stephen Medina, Mary Pat Denton, Beth Ann & Eric Mott, and John & Gina Blessing.
