Obituary for David Darrell Klamm

David Darrell Klamm, age 88, of Rural Bonner Springs, KS., passed away Sept. 7, 2017. Visitation 5-7pm, Sunday, Funeral 11am Monday Sept. 11, 2017 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Bonner Springs United Methodist Church or the Leavenworth County 4-H Foundation.

David was born at home on his family’s farm on March 7, 1929 in Rural Bonner Springs, Kansas. He was the seventh of seven children born to David E. Klamm & Minnie (Brecheisen) Klamm. David was a fourth generation farmer, working the same farm that has been owned by his family since the 1860’s. He graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1947. On February 23, 1963 he married Dorothy M. Wilhelm and they have enjoyed 54 years together. David was a charter member of the Leavenworth County Cooperative, a member of the Basehor-Linwood School Board for eight years, served on the Leavenworth County Agriculture Committee, a lifelong supporter of the Leavenworth County 4-H and is a Leavenworth County 4-H Memory Lane Honoree. David was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Velma Fiering, Mae Fern Smith, Stella Bockover, Everett Klamm and Wayne Klamm.. Survivors include his wife Dorothy M. Klamm of the home, four children; Andy Klamm and wife Liz of Hutchinson, KS., Karen Campbell and husband Chris of Tonganoxie, KS., Tony Klamm and wife Jeanette of Bonner Springs, KS., Martin Klamm and wife DeAnna of Parsons, TN., one sister Pearle Gibson of Tucson, AZ., and ten grandchildren; David, Katie, Havanna, Kenny, Jason, Mikyla, D.J., Ryan, Brett and Aleia.
