MIKE BUTTON
John Michael Button "Mike", 62, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Visitation from 5 to 7 pm, and Memorial Service at 7 pm, on Tue., Oct. 17, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS Interment will follow on Wed., Oct. 18, at the Springbranch Cemetery near Avery, MO with full Military Honors. Mike was born on Oct. 12, 1955 in Kansas City, KS and has been a long time Kansas City area resident living in Blue Springs since 1988. He went to college at Johnson County Community College and UMKC graduating with a Bachelors degree in 1981. Mike recently retired as a field Construction Supervisor for KCP&L in Kansas City, MO. He previously served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Commander. Mike always loved to fish and hunt with his bird dogs. Mike met and married the love of his life Ethel Therese in 2004. Together they enjoyed going to the lake and camping with family and friends. Mike is survived by his wife Ethel Therese Button of the home. Four step-children Jacob, Jason, Linda and Lisa. Eight grandchildren. Two sisters Bonnie Hilburn and Becky Adtkinson. One brother James Button as well as a host of other family and friends.
