Obituary for James Anthony Yanos

JAMES ANTHONY YANOS
Jim Yanos (43) of Basehor Kansas and previously of Sandwich & Oswego Illinois passed away on Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017. Visitation will be on Tuesday Dec. 19th from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass services will be on Wednesday Dec. 20th at 10 am. Both services will be held at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor KS. To honor Jim’s wishes, he will be cremated following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ducks Unlimited, The Arbor Day Foundation, or the Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Jim was born on Sept. 4, 1974 in Aurora IL and was the youngest of three sons born to Ronald & Elaine (Stygar) Yanos. He grew up in Oswego IL and graduated from Oswego High School. Jim married Jennifer and together they raised their two sons. Jim started out building homes and then drove trucks for various companies in IL. Since moving to KS with his family in 2007, Jim has been employed with the City of Olathe, Public Works Department. He and Jennifer are members of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor. Jim, an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Jennifer Lynn (Byrne) Yanos of Basehor KS; sons: Nicholas Scott Yanos of Streator IL and Alexander James Yanos of Basehor KS; parents Ronald & Elaine Yanos of Varna IL; brothers: Ron (Amy) Yanos of Oswego IL and Chris Yanos (Tammy) of Oswego IL; father-in-law & mother-in-law Mike & Darlene Byrne of Oswego IL; brothers-in-law: Jeff (Elizabeth) Byrne of Brentwood TN and Tim (Jessica) Byrne of Oswego IL; nephews & nieces (Ronnie Jr, Angie, Aidan, Darwin, Caleb, Bella), as well as a large extended family and many friends.
