Obituary for Larry Smith

Larry Smith, age 71, a longtime resident of Bonner Springs, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018 at his home. Visitation will be 10-11am Thursday, Feb. 8th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, with the Graveside Funeral Service following at 11:30am in the Lenape Cemetery in rural Bonner Springs.
Larry was born on September 30, 1946 on Moyers, Oklahoma to Jesse and Eula Smith and has lived in this area for the majority of his life. He retired after 35 years with the Operating Engineers Local Union #101 as a Tower Crane Operator. Larry was known as a dependable worker, for not missing any work and was one of the top operators in the area. Over the years, Larry had also owned and operated Dump Trucks and even a Well Drilling Rig. He loved his country living, tending to his garden and working with the farm animals. His wife, Carole Marie “Tiny”, was the love of his life, she enjoyed to travel, and Larry “made it happen”.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Carole Marie “Tiny” Smith, one daughter Lori Smith Monroy, one brother Kenny Smith and one sister Phyllis LeCluyse.
He is survived by two children; daughter Stacy Eastwood (Joe), son Scott Smith, three sisters; Patricia Smith Shrum, Diane Smith and Sharon Radspinner, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, longtime best friend, Kenny Lawrence and his beloved dogs, Homer and Sandy.
