Obituary for Glenn Edward Huff

Glenn Edward Huff, age 89, of Bonner Springs, KS., passed away one day short of his "90th" birthday on Fri. Feb. 9, 2018 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Home. Family Graveside Funeral Service will be at the Stony Point Cemetery in Kansas City, KS.
Glenn was born on Feb. 10, 1928 in Kansas City, KS. He had served in the U.S. Navy as an Electricians Mate Third Class. He met Joyce Miller in Santa Barbara, CA and they married on Feb. 21, 1948 almost 70 years ago. Later they moved to Wyandotte County where he owned and operated Huff Body and Fender Co. for 39 years in Kansas City, KS he was also a Real Estate Broker owning Huff Realty Co. for many years. He was a member of the Stony Point Christian Church and had been a Ballroom Dancer at Camelot Dance Studio. He also had been a Shriner and a member of the Swope Park Masonic Lodge. He had graduated from the University of Kansas with a Masters of Arts in History. Along with being a pet owner and caring for all dogs and animals of all kinds his entire life his true hobby was that he loved building and flying experimental aircraft. He built, flew and donated two airplanes to the Liberty Memorial and WW II Museum where they are on display.. One was a 1914 Nieuport 12 and also a DeHavilland "DH2" each took over 1500 hours to complete and Glenn loved flying them at various airshows and other events for over 12 years. His Pilots Name was Papa Bear and he was a member of the Dawn Patrol. He even flew over his grandson's Kyle Baseball and Football Games and over Worlds of Fun in his homemade Gyro-Copter.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 69 years Joyce Huff of the home. Two daughters Bonnie Hill (David) of Bonner Springs and Barbara Huff of Piru, CA. One Brother John Huff of Ireland. Seven grandchildren Kyle Hill (Haley), David Pride, Stephen Pride, Philip Naumann, Rebecca Sciandra, Elizabeth Naumann and Rachel Naumann. And three great granddaughters Scarlett, Isabella and Elaina.
