Obituary for Donna Sue Hardwick

Donna Sue  Hardwick
Donna Sue (Calton) Hardwick, age 78, of Tonganoxie, KS and previously of Basehor, KS. went home to be with the Lord, while surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 11th, 2018. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Basehor in care of the funeral home.

Donna Sue Calton was born on Jan. 28th, 1940 in Morgan County, MO. she was the fourth of five daughters born to Oliver & Irene (Hess) Calton. For many years, Donna ran an in-home daycare from her home in Basehor, caring for many children in the community, all of whom she considered her “Kids”. She enjoyed gardening and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Basehor. Donna loved life, and she loved spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her Parents, two sister; Marie Williams and Dora Merriott and by her husband of 52 years, Gerald Hardwick, Sr.

Survivors include her three children; Jerry Harwick, Jr. and wife Lorrie, Sherrie Holland and husband Benny all of Basehor, and Sandy Hardwick of Kansas City, KS., two sisters; Louise Sidebottom and Barbara Meeker (Glen), six grandchildren Brian (Sophia), Chad (Nicole), Robby (Samantha), Katrina (David), Kristal (Chance) and David. 15 great-grandchildren; Everett, Eastin, Eli, Carsyn, Corbin, Kambree, Kinsley, Kennedy, Hudson, Avery, Riggs, Riott, Kameron, Axlis, Grace and two more, “on the way”, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
