Shirley May (Hoffine) Zaring, age 86, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Home in Tonganoxie, KS. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm, on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Elm Grove Baptist Church near Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the visitation from 6 to 8 pm, Fri., Oct. 11, at the Alden – Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. Mrs. Zaring was born on June 6, 1927 in Lenape, KS and was a lifelong area resident. She was married to Paul Zaring in 1946 and they lived in DeSoto, KS. Shirley attended Elm Grove Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, her husband Paul, son Richard, two granddaughters, and two daughter-in-laws. She is survived by Four sons LeeRoy and Jerry Zaring both of Bonner Springs, KS; Steven Zaring of Darlington, MO; and Paul Zaring (Laura) of Humansville, MO. Five daughters Pauline Vitt (Larry) and Sandra Erwin (Mike) all of Bonner Springs, KS; Shirley Summers (Don) of Olathe, KS; Jane Twidwell (Tom) of DeSoto, KS and Rita Fields of Basehor, KS. 31 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
