Watson M.  Ore
Watson M. Ore, age 98, of Lee’s Summit, MO. and previously of Kansas City, KS. and Warsaw, MO. passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Funeral Services will be 11am Monday July 31st at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 10 to 11am prior to the service also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Watson was born on September 12, 1918 in Waverly, KS and graduated from Waverly High School. On Dec. 3rd, 1939 he married his high school sweetheart, Lela Merle (Shobe) in Burlington, KS. and they were married for 67 years until her death in 2007. Watson had worked at the Sunflower Ammunitions Plant, as a bookkeeper at Riss Trucking Co., and at the Guaranty State Bank in Kansas City, KS. After he retired in 1977, he and Lela moved to Warsaw where they owned and operated several businesses. In 1982, they purchased a travel trailer and enjoyed traveling the country together. Most recently, Watson has enjoyed living in the Lee’s Summit area. He is preceded in death by his wife, one daughter Linda J. Hill in 2002, and by his parents, and siblings. Survivors include his son Larry, L. Ore and wife Barbara of Pleasant Hill, Mo., daughter Marcia J. Ore and fiancée Phil Peeler of Lenexa, KS., Son-in-law Steve Hill of Tonganoxie, KS., four grandchildren; Lawrence Ore and wife Rebecca of Pleasant Hill, MO., LeAnn Brown and husband William of Flower Mound, TX., Tim Hill and wife Heidi of Basehor, KS., Clint Hill of Raymore, MO., eight great-grandchildren; Amanda, Seth, Maria, Joseph, Tyler, Brady, Colton, and Carson, as well as many friends and neighbors.
