Obituary for Carolee Rose Riley

Carolee Rose  Riley
Carolee Rose Riley, age 81, of Basehor, KS., passed away on Sunday Aug. 27th, 2017. Visitation will be 1-2pm, Funeral 2pm both Saturday, Sept. 2nd at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Carolee was born on April 21, 1936 in Stanberry, MO. She graduated from Northwestern Missouri State University, where she obtained her teaching degree. Carolee taught High School - Home Economics in Iowa and in Dora, MO. While teaching in Dora, she met the love of her life, Leon Riley and they were married on Jan. 3, 1966 in Miami, OK. Together they settled in Basehor where they raised their three sons. Carolee had also worked as a Social Worker for Leavenworth County. She loved to paint, sew, crochet but her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Carolee was preceded in death by her husband Leon Riley on March 22, 2017 as well by her parents J.Bob and Mabel Evans, two sisters; Sandra Evans and Joyce MacDonald and one brother Gene Evans. Survivors include her three sons; Greg Riley and wife Diana of Bonner Springs, KS., Joseph Riley and wife Shannon of McLouth, KS., Jason Riley and wife Sheldon of Tonganoxie, KS., nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.
